Individual Psychotherapy
Treatment During the COVID-19 Pandemic
In this unprecedented and uncertain time, my highest priority is to work with clients in a way that feels most safe and secure. To this end, all treatment sessions are currently conducted through telehealth video platforms or by telephone.
I appreciate your collaboration and patience. I understand there is no substitute for being together in the same room, and look forward to the time when we are able to safely meet again in person.

Welcome.
I am Judith Kaftan and I have enjoyed working with clients in my psychotherapy private practice since 1994. I am licensed as a clinical social worker (LICSW). My office is located on the west side of Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood, just south of I-90 and north of Franklin High School.
It is important when looking for psychotherapy to find someone whose approach and style is a match for who you are. In this site you will find information about the work I do, my background, and how I think.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process with the goal of developing courage, authenticity, compassion for self and others, and deep, meaningful connections. We do this by illuminating what is often outside of awareness: habits of attention, beliefs, and behaviors that have limited you. We also illuminate and practice what has also often been hidden: capacities for care, connection, clarity, and joy that reside within you and increase your vitality and satisfaction in life.
Each person who comes to therapy has a unique history, temperament, set of skills and challenges. We work together to discover what is most helpful. Our focus will vary from person to person and session to session, but the underlying stance will remain the same – that of openness, safety, and discovery.
